10 Rainy Day Activities

1. Read! - I'm a teacher ya'll! You best believe I will sneak reading into any blog post I can ;) Rainy days are made for curling up with a book and getting sucked into a parallel universe! As adults you aren't required to read unless you're in school and even then do you really actually read? So why not use a rainy day as an excuse to read a book you've been wanting to or to reread one you love! You'd be surprised how many new books have come out that are amazing and adult friendly - No, I'm not talking about Fifty Shades of Grey... but hey, if you haven't read it, give it a go the next rainy day!

2. Build a fort - Forts are supa fun and hella easy to build as an adult, which is delightfully surprising. Grab all of the blankets you own, your roommates blankets, your parents blankets, whoever the fuck you live with blankets, and get to work. Blast some music and get your creative juices flowing and make your fort dreams come true! Add some candles, twinkle lights, and an extra fuzzy blanket to make it perfect and enjoy!

3. Be a tourist in your hometown - Take this rainy day and use it to explore your hometown! Being a tourist is SO much fun and you don't always have to go far to be one! When avoiding the rain, you can check out your local boutiques, coffee shops, museums, and points of interest. Book yourself that silly tour that takes you through the duck museum and make a day of it! Grab a cocktail at the end in your towns notorious dive bar and reflect on what a fun, most likely interesting day you had!

4. Nothing - It's a rainy fucking day! Chances are you might not want to do anything at all and that's chill af too! Go to your grocery store and get your fave comfy foods, or order online because that is a thing now and go home and veg out! We live in a world that is go, go, go! Sometimes a little R&R is just what a rainy day calls for. Cozy ass sweats and white cheddar Cheeto Puffs, yes puh-lease!

5. Obviously this will be on the list, Netflix & Chill - Am I right? Get your snuggle buddy, put on your comfy/sexy jammies and binge watch that gross TV show you've been meaning to watch, or not watch ;) *Wink wink*

6. Adult arcading - That's right, rainy days are perfect to tap into your inner child and let loose a little! Adult arcades are popping up everywhere and have the oldies like, Pac Man, Dance Dance Revolution and new cool games like virtual reality that feel like mini roller coasters - some even have full blown bowling alleys, score, or should I say strike!

7. Wine tasting - Tasting rooms are super cute places to hide from the rain! On most sunny days, you are out enjoying the sunshine with your wine in hand but when the sun is out, why would you want to stay indoors? A rainy day is a perfect time to check out the cute interior of a tasting room and who knows, maybe they have a fireplace you can warm up next to! The wine wont be the only thing warming up your soul.

8. Marie Kondo the shit outta your place - Get organized and find what sparks joy in your life Watch some of Marie Kondo's episodes on Netflix or read her book and get to decluttering your life! What better way to feel like you've accomplished something on this rainy day than making your room/space in sync!

9. Go antiquing - Antiquing is a fun way to pass time dodging the rain and finding little treasures. Antique shops are like I Spy books and you never know what you'll find in there. Since you just cleaned out your space Maria Kondoing the ish out of it, now you'll have some much room for old trinkets! Yay!! Go ahead and buy that 100 year old elephant statue and that rando array of mugs.

10. Crafting - Go on Pinterest and DIY some cool crafts! Make a homemade picture frame, build yourself a coffee table, or collage a vision board! When you're holed up inside why not bust out some gorilla glue and sequins and go to town! Woo woo did somebody say decoupaged wine bottles?

5 Ways to do Cinco De Mayo

** I understand this is a blog of 10 but in honor of Cinco De Mayo (The fifth of May for you Gringos) I will be doing a list of 5.** Numero Uno-   Traditions - Let's be respectful. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army took victory over the French Empire. (au revoir  putas) In Mexico, the traditional celebration is very militant and in the US it's a fucking fiesta - but, it is important to be respectful of traditions so therefore, be respectful.  Numero Dos- Tacos - What is a fiesta without bomb ass Mexican food? Not a very good one. (jajaja) I live in California so I am #blessed with authentic Mexican food and can literally find tacos at any hour of the day. If you don't live in California maybe stick to some generic tortilla chips and some Pace Salsa and skip the tacos because it would be a shame to try to recreate tacos if you don't know wtf you're doing. Make sure you eat at least 14 tacos on

10 things to be thankful for this fall

1. Community - Be thankful for your community. Having lived in a small town and a city where wild fires destroyed homes, structures, lives, and left people's lives changed forever, community is something to be thankful for this fall. I witnessed so many strangers come together to grieve, gather, and give to the people impacted by the fires - whether it be donating food, supplies, time, or a place to stay, it was/ is incredible to see people rise up to support one another in a time of such need. In general, communities are very powerful and will be there for you whenever needed, not only during fires - many thanks. 2. Support - Be thankful for support - Support can mean a multitude of things - from someone supporting your ideas, dreams, decisions, to supporting you physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, or just flat out being your cheerleader. It's important to have support and its equally as important to be supportive. Support is something to be thankful for th
