10 Ideas for Self-care! *That isn't just bath bombs

When you think of self-care your mind automatically goes to god. damn. bath bombs but self-care is so much more than that trendy tub glitter. Here are 10 other ways to nurture your soul without having to buy glorified powder... not cocaine, I'm still taking about bath bombs...

1. Stayyyyyycation!
You heard me! You don't need to get out of dodge to have a self-care day. I mean a fancy ass bougie spa would be nice but you can also find a cute Airbnb in your backyard and leave your worries behind! Staycations are a great way to feel like you are on vacation without the hassle of traveling too far, which means more money for booze! LOL well maybe not but you can save on travel costs and spend that extra $ on something snazzy like a charcuterie  board because what screams vacation errr staycation more that a charcuterie board.

2. Book a Trip!
Well if you really aren't into the staycation idea then booking a nice little getaway might be just what the self-care doctor ordered. It is always nice to pack up a bag and leave your untouched-clean-laundry-still-in-the-basket behind you and go stay at a place that has real life maids! What's more self-care than having someone make your bed each morning and turn down your sheets at night! I'm already feeling more relaxed thinking about it. Whether your trip be a lavish far away one or something more low key, make sure you are taking care of yourself in the trip and not causing yourself more stress - because wtf kind of self-care day is it if just booking it is stressful.

3. Splurge on something you really want and DON'T FEEL GUILTY about it!
Treat yoself to something nice! Maybe don't make it a whole day like Tom Haverford and Donna Meagle did on Parks And Rec but it's okay to treat yourself! Shit if you want to get that weird fucking trinket from the antique store, do it! Or maybe you want to spend money on some trendy tub glitter and get your soak/ shine on - do it to it! The trick with this one is to not feel guilty about spending some hard earned cash on yourself! Life is too short.

4. Unplug for an hour, a day, or a week!
Phones, computers, tablets, whatever the fuck new cool technology thing is out there!! Sometimes all we need to reset ourselves is to unplug them. Give Facebook, Snapchat, and the Twitterverse a break or more like give yourself a break from them - it's so easy to fall into the trap that is scrolling and sometimes we end up trolling... ourselves in the process which is unhealthy af but also very simple to do. Unplug and unwind! The internet doesn't need to know that you are unplugging either so don't post about it or do post about it but most importantly do it for yourself! You deserve it.

5. Go for a walk, without your phone!
What?! How will anyone know I went for a walk without my phone?! It's possible, pretty mind blowing stuff, I know. Any who, take a walk around a familiar place and see what you notice without your screen in front of your face. Walk around your office building, your neighborhood, (if you have that luxury) or really anywhere that you'd like and just enjoy a leisurely stroll. Being outdoors naturally will boost your immune system! Wait, that's not true, at least I don't think it is... but it will however boost your mood! Being outside is healing in itself so next time you're in the need for some self-care this is a cheap easy way to take a step back from life and just relax a little, one step at a time.

*If you think the walk will be sketchy, please bring your phone in case of emergencies or just maybe don't walk there! SSDGM

6. Therapy!
Oh shit the forbidden 'T' word! But forrealzies therapy is okay, fuck, it's more than okay! Sometimes you just need to talk it out with an unbiased person and that's totally cool. Maybe the form of self-care you really need can be found through a thoughtful, safe, meaningful convo with someone you happen to pay to hangout with you and that's fucking great!! Therapy can be a scary topic, thanks society, but it is something that needs to be talked about because it is insanely helpful and 100% natural to want to talk about things in life. Get yoself a therapist ASAP and talk it like you walk it.

7. Watch Netflix on repeat and eat awesome treats!
Yesss when it comes to self-care calories don't count! Yay, now pass me the dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joe's! If you need a day to just fucking chill out and forget about reality for a little while and unwind, this might be for you! Forget Netflix and Chill, try Netflix and Snack ayeee! Also, UberEats anyone?? Bring me my tacos, chips, and xxtra quacc right meow!

*Here are 6 binge worthy shows on Netflix RN: Gossip Girl, The Good Place, Criminal Minds, Black Mirror, (San Junipero episode) Atypical, Schitt$ creek :]

8. Go to sleep an hour earlier than usual!
This one might sound like the easiest thing on the list, but it's not. With Instagram glaring in your face, the dishes piled up in the sink, or maybe your meal prep for the next day waiting to be made, time is precious. Even one extra hour is costly as hell - but going to bed and actually sleeping for that extra hour might be just what you needed in your life! Did somebody say ZzZzs?

*Also, this old Indian dude asked about what I was writing and told me to add this in!
"Early to bed
early to rise
makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise!"
*Cough*Wo(man)  I added this in ;)

9. Meditate, stretch, masturbate!
Not in that order or maybe in that order?!  Do something that really turns your mind off but turns your body on! Maybe your jam is hot yoga - cool, cool. Maybe you really unwind with some solo time, great! Maybe you're religious as fuck, in which case, you probably don't like this one, but self-lovin' ain't no sin, darlin'! But! if you are religious as fuck, maybe you unwind by writing scripture, wait, reading it because it's already set in stone, do that or maybe pray, whatever your sacred jam might be, enjoy your self-care time.

10. Hold a baby or pet a puppy!
Who can feel stressed out holding a baby?? Just Kidding of course! The baby or puppy might be why you need some self-care in the first place amiright? If so then skip this one or do the other one like if you have a baby pet a puppy or vice versa yaddidamean. K! Anyway if your self-care if not from baby or puppy stress then this is a fun one to try out! Babies are so cute and innocent it's nice to snuggle one to feel better and puppies are baby dogs so like it's also a win! Relax with some babies and/or puppies and be enlightened! If babies or puppies don't make you smile you're Satan and therefore don't deserve self-care in the first place. . .

5 Ways to do Cinco De Mayo

** I understand this is a blog of 10 but in honor of Cinco De Mayo (The fifth of May for you Gringos) I will be doing a list of 5.** Numero Uno-   Traditions - Let's be respectful. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army took victory over the French Empire. (au revoir  putas) In Mexico, the traditional celebration is very militant and in the US it's a fucking fiesta - but, it is important to be respectful of traditions so therefore, be respectful.  Numero Dos- Tacos - What is a fiesta without bomb ass Mexican food? Not a very good one. (jajaja) I live in California so I am #blessed with authentic Mexican food and can literally find tacos at any hour of the day. If you don't live in California maybe stick to some generic tortilla chips and some Pace Salsa and skip the tacos because it would be a shame to try to recreate tacos if you don't know wtf you're doing. Make sure you eat at least 14 tacos on

10 things to be thankful for this fall

1. Community - Be thankful for your community. Having lived in a small town and a city where wild fires destroyed homes, structures, lives, and left people's lives changed forever, community is something to be thankful for this fall. I witnessed so many strangers come together to grieve, gather, and give to the people impacted by the fires - whether it be donating food, supplies, time, or a place to stay, it was/ is incredible to see people rise up to support one another in a time of such need. In general, communities are very powerful and will be there for you whenever needed, not only during fires - many thanks. 2. Support - Be thankful for support - Support can mean a multitude of things - from someone supporting your ideas, dreams, decisions, to supporting you physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, or just flat out being your cheerleader. It's important to have support and its equally as important to be supportive. Support is something to be thankful for th
