10 Northern California Getaways

Who doesn't love a good weekend getaway? Especially to places that are amazing! Here are the top 10 musts for weekend getaways in Northern California!

1. Benbow - Benbow Historic Inn in the town of Benbow is a MUST when looking for a weekend getaway. The Inn is not only totally adorable, but it gives you a feeling of royalty while staying there! The Inn hosts different style rooms that are named in honor of the first family that lived there! Supa cute! Also, if you're in the mood for a night cap (booze yay!) and a soak, most rooms come stocked with yummy liquor and soaking tubs - hell ya. Hint: Check-in on time to catch Tea Time where you're greeted with fresh tea and homemade scones! Did I mention the restaurant is out of this world?

2. Tahoe - Uh-duh! Tahoe is hands down on the top 10 Northern California destinations & yes, Tahoe is considered Northern California based off of a snazzy Google search I did- ha. If you haven't been to Tahoe, you're in for a real treat! If you're more outdoorsy and like to kick-it more cabin/ Airbnb style North Lake would be more your jam- North Lake has great hiking trails and is hella scenic! If you're in for a night out on the town and down for losing all your god damn money gambling, South Lake is the place to be! Whichever side of the lake you're on, don't forget to check out the lake itself as it can be a whirlwind of a destination.

3. Sebastopol - Sebastopol is a little hippy-dippy town in Sonoma County that is def a spot you won't want to miss. This town is full of charm and has so many things to do! If you're looking for great local restaurants with unique menus or wanting to explore a more relaxed downtown, look no further. I highly recommend checking out The Barlow while visiting this quaint little town. The Barlow is a great spot to sip coffee, wine, beer, explore shops, eat award winning food, and socialize with friends and family. So fun! Hell yes. BRB heading to Sebastopol!

4. Fort Bragg - This coastal town is a scene out of every romance book that has the setting of a beach town! From the quirky little shops, to restaurants that have their bar tops filled with locals, this town is not one to miss. Fort Bragg is perfect for a weekend getaway! They have many lodging accommodations and is a tourist survived town! Hint: check out Cowlick's Creamery for bomb ass ice cream and then head over to iconic Glass Beach to check out a beach filled with sea glass and tiny rocks instead of sand - Wonderful!

5. Chico - Did she just say Chico? Yes, yes I fucking did. Chico is actually more than a shitty, scummy college town, surprisingly! It has great hiking/biking trails, adorable shops, and is home to Sierra Nevada Brewery! *Beer cheese & pretzels* Chico seems like a shit hole if you hangout in the gross parts, but what place doesn't have it's ugly parts? Chico is pretty rad when you start to look past the ugly and search for the good, and let me tell you, there are some good ones! Cheers! Or Chico style bottoms up!

6. Trinidad - Hands down my personal fave on this list! Most of you are probably like where tf is Trinidad? It's hella in Norcal like way up there. This town is the cutest beach town ever! You might blink and miss it because it's tiny as hell but worth the trek up north. Places to check out while there: Beachcomber Cafe, Murphy's Grocery Store, Sea and Wind, The Lighthouse, and you have to check out Patrick's Point State Park while leaving town - it's breathtaking.

7. Kelseyville - I might be biased since this is my hometown but this town is adorable af! Kelseyville is home to like 23853895 wine tasting rooms, which is saying a lo of a town that has a population of less than 4,000 people. Kelseyville is very charming and takes you back to simpler times. Located next to the base of the volcano, Mt. Konocti and the states largest natural lake, Clear Lake this town is an outdoor enthusiasts dream! Also, downtown K-ville (haha no one actually calls it that) has a general store! What? So cool! Hot stops: Studebakers Coffee House and Deli, A + H General Store, Oak Boutique, Kelsey Creek Brewing, Saw Shop, oh, and if you're really trying to be like a local and want a special treat, grab a drink at the only bar in town, The Brick Tavern.
P.S. The Kelseyville Pear Festival is real and a must!

8. Ukiah - This place is rad! Ukiah is one of those towns if you come across you're like, "How have I never heard of this place? It's so cool!" Ukiah has an awesome downtown for being so small and some really fun restaurant options. Ukiah is home to Lake Mendocino and is great to visit during the hot summer months. I don't have much more to say about Ukiah but it's cool and you should check it out. Oh, Ukiah also has an In N Out which I guess is really cool to some people.

9. Arcata - Arcata is the most chill af town of Northern California. One of the more northern towns on this list, Arcata is a college town that is full of chill shit. The bookstore is chill, the coffee shops are chill, the farmer's market every Saturday is chill, chill, chill, chill. Arcata is also a coastal town and home to many unique places to mosey about. If you're looking to explore a new place up north, I 10/10 recommended Arcata! Ya braaaa!

10. Bodega Bay - Well, after writing 1-9 I guess I really like coastal towns because here's anotha one! Bodega Bay is the best! Salt water taffy, clam chowder, scenic ocean view roads, coastal hiking, sandy beach chilling! Boom! Bodega as most call it is badass! A real Northern California beach AKA it's not all sunshine and warm water but cold-freeze-your-tits-off weather and occasional dashes of warmth. Don't let that deter you from checking out this town! It's the ideal weekend getaway hang out spot. Tourist af but also pretty mellow. Hot spots to check out include:  Goat Rock Beach, Salmon Creek Beach, Lucas Wharf Restaurant, and Fisherman's Cove.
I can already feel the salty sea breeze! Mmmm

If you want anymore info on any of these destinations, leave me a comment and i'd be happy to recommend some more shit for you! Happy Travels!

*I was not sponsored nor paid for any of these recommendations because I am not Insta famous and did this purely out of my love for these places! :)

5 Ways to do Cinco De Mayo

** I understand this is a blog of 10 but in honor of Cinco De Mayo (The fifth of May for you Gringos) I will be doing a list of 5.** Numero Uno-   Traditions - Let's be respectful. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army took victory over the French Empire. (au revoir  putas) In Mexico, the traditional celebration is very militant and in the US it's a fucking fiesta - but, it is important to be respectful of traditions so therefore, be respectful.  Numero Dos- Tacos - What is a fiesta without bomb ass Mexican food? Not a very good one. (jajaja) I live in California so I am #blessed with authentic Mexican food and can literally find tacos at any hour of the day. If you don't live in California maybe stick to some generic tortilla chips and some Pace Salsa and skip the tacos because it would be a shame to try to recreate tacos if you don't know wtf you're doing. Make sure you eat at least 14 tacos on

10 things to be thankful for this fall

1. Community - Be thankful for your community. Having lived in a small town and a city where wild fires destroyed homes, structures, lives, and left people's lives changed forever, community is something to be thankful for this fall. I witnessed so many strangers come together to grieve, gather, and give to the people impacted by the fires - whether it be donating food, supplies, time, or a place to stay, it was/ is incredible to see people rise up to support one another in a time of such need. In general, communities are very powerful and will be there for you whenever needed, not only during fires - many thanks. 2. Support - Be thankful for support - Support can mean a multitude of things - from someone supporting your ideas, dreams, decisions, to supporting you physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, or just flat out being your cheerleader. It's important to have support and its equally as important to be supportive. Support is something to be thankful for th
