10 Reasons to listen to My Favorite Murder

My Favorite Murder Podcast - By Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark

Reason One - The first reason you need to listen to MFM (My Favorite Murder) is because it is amazing as hell! If you like true crime and hearing about solved and unsolved murders, then this is def your podcast! The podcast is hosted by two kick-ass females - one is a comedian and one is an actress - They both are incredible and hilarious and I want to be friends with both of them like rn so we can speculate the fuck out of cases. Yuhh-ess

Reason Two - Murder - Well obvi reason number two is about the reason of the podcast which is murder. Dun dun dun! Karen shares a murder and Georgia shares a murder and they usually forget who goes first. Each episode has two murders (sometimes more if you're lucky) and it is magic.

Reason Three - Karen - Karen is a total badass, she rocks it as a comedian and her humor makes the podcast so much fun! (I know murder isn't fun but… just listen) You get to hear about her personal take on serial killers and how to avoid getting murder in the best way possible. Karen is also a self proclaimed thanatologist and forensic psychologist and much more. If you're a Sonoma County local, she is a Petaluma native so you get to hear little stories from her hometown which is insanely cool. Love her!

Reason Four - Georgia - Georgia is such a doll! Georgia is an actress and a self proclaimed cat enthusiast who has her cats guest star in each podcast. (It sounds weirder than it actually is.) Georgia is not the greatest at story telling **Sorry Georgia, Karen takes the cake in story telling** but she is the best commentator!! The podcast wouldn't be the same without Georgia's comments and input and speculation - She's the best! Georgia also is just a hilarious person and keeps it fucking real. Lover her too!

Reason Five - Steven - STEVEN… Steven is the podcasts' bitch - he's really there to keep the show on the road and make sure things are on the right track. Steven is also the one who edits the podcasts and gets yelled at a lot. Go Steven! You'll see...

Reason Six - Hometown Minisodes - The podcast started with the girls sharing hometown murders from their friends at the end of the podcast because, who doesn't have a murder story to share? but it became such a hit that there is now, "minisodes" which are little podcasts to share hometown murders from fans emailed in! They are short but jam packed with crazy! What's your hometown murder? Let's get drinks and you can tell me and I will listen to it wholeheartedly.

Reason Seven - Airplane Mode Road Trips - If you're out on a road trip and don't have service, no problem! You can download the podcast in service and then listen to them on airplane mode! Yay! It's really great for road trips when you're in a place with no service and there isn't civilization for about 80 miles and it's pitch black outside… that is prime time to listen to real life murders. Load your podcast queue and gtfo there!

Reason Eight - Live Shows!! This new super cool thing happened and that is live freaking shows! Karen and Georgia go on tour now! Prestige world wide! You can see them in a location near you! You can even join their cult ;)

Here is the link: https://www.myfavoritemurder.com you are welcome!

Reason Nine - Random Stories - The lovely ladies have now opened up their request for hometown murders to interesting stories and they do not disappoint! You can hear anything from finding money in walls to close **Fucking scary** encounters with Ted Bundy - how cool is that? TELL ME MORE!

Reason Ten - SSDGM!!!! You will have to listen to understand this reference ;) you won't be disappointed! Unless murder creeps you the fuck out… then maybe don't listen but you still should.

•Side bar nation because it’s only natural to get distracted when taking about MFM•

I recently was at the airport and I saw a girl wearing a MFM t-shirt so I obviously wanted to be friends with her. I texted my MFM friend and was like, “omg there is a girl wearing a MFM shirt! I want to be friends with her!!” Whereas she responded, “Do it! Make a murder friend!” (Not sure how cool that is in an airport??) Anway I didn’t talk to her but I did end up making a murder friend that day! I was binge watching the Netflix Show, The Staircase as per Gerorgia and Karen’s recommendation and the woman sitting next to me looks over at my screen mid flight and goes, “omg are you a Murderino?!” Instant friends! We talked the remainder hour of the flight about all things murder, true crime podcasts, and our lives in general.... amazing.

5 Ways to do Cinco De Mayo

** I understand this is a blog of 10 but in honor of Cinco De Mayo (The fifth of May for you Gringos) I will be doing a list of 5.** Numero Uno-   Traditions - Let's be respectful. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army took victory over the French Empire. (au revoir  putas) In Mexico, the traditional celebration is very militant and in the US it's a fucking fiesta - but, it is important to be respectful of traditions so therefore, be respectful.  Numero Dos- Tacos - What is a fiesta without bomb ass Mexican food? Not a very good one. (jajaja) I live in California so I am #blessed with authentic Mexican food and can literally find tacos at any hour of the day. If you don't live in California maybe stick to some generic tortilla chips and some Pace Salsa and skip the tacos because it would be a shame to try to recreate tacos if you don't know wtf you're doing. Make sure you eat at least 14 tacos on

10 things to be thankful for this fall

1. Community - Be thankful for your community. Having lived in a small town and a city where wild fires destroyed homes, structures, lives, and left people's lives changed forever, community is something to be thankful for this fall. I witnessed so many strangers come together to grieve, gather, and give to the people impacted by the fires - whether it be donating food, supplies, time, or a place to stay, it was/ is incredible to see people rise up to support one another in a time of such need. In general, communities are very powerful and will be there for you whenever needed, not only during fires - many thanks. 2. Support - Be thankful for support - Support can mean a multitude of things - from someone supporting your ideas, dreams, decisions, to supporting you physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, or just flat out being your cheerleader. It's important to have support and its equally as important to be supportive. Support is something to be thankful for th
