5 Ways to do Cinco De Mayo

Image result for cinco de mayo

** I understand this is a blog of 10 but in honor of Cinco De Mayo (The fifth of May for you Gringos) I will be doing a list of 5.**

Numero Uno- Traditions - Let's be respectful. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army took victory over the French Empire. (au revoir  putas) In Mexico, the traditional celebration is very militant and in the US it's a fucking fiesta - but, it is important to be respectful of traditions so therefore, be respectful.

Numero Dos- Tacos - What is a fiesta without bomb ass Mexican food? Not a very good one. (jajaja) I live in California so I am #blessed with authentic Mexican food and can literally find tacos at any hour of the day. If you don't live in California maybe stick to some generic tortilla chips and some Pace Salsa and skip the tacos because it would be a shame to try to recreate tacos if you don't know wtf you're doing. Make sure you eat at least 14 tacos on Saturday and if you're drinking, let's make that 24 tacos - you got this! **Insert Taco Emoji**

Numero Tres- Tequila - YAS! Did someone say margaritas? Palomas?Mexican Mules? Shots? Or any other tequila related beverage? Ugh, margaritas are the best. Spicy margs, prickly pear margs, on the rocks, blended, give me all of the margs! Get your salt, limes, ice, tequila, and get ready to drink your face off. If you're not into margs and want to try something a little diff, click the link below. You're welcome.

Numero Cuatro - Turn-Up / Tortas - Turn up that mariachi music (and please not Despacito by Justin Bieber - this is neither the time nor place for that) and turn-up! Get your dancing zapatos on and finally show off all of those sick dance moves you learned in Zumba!

**Shout out to my friend Orlando for the recommendation of the word, "tortas" as a T word in the Spanish language. To be fair, they are delicious and he's Mexican so he gets the credit here.**

Here are my 5 song recommendations for your turn up.
1. Me Deje Llevar - Christian Nodal
2. X - Nicky Jam & J Balvin
3. Quedate - Lenin Ramirez
4. Oye Mujer - Raymix
5. Los Enanos - Sones de Mexico Ensemble

Numero Cinco- Tranquilo - You have now had a successful Cinco De Mayo (hopefully) and the tequila is wearing off... your feet hurt from dancing... you ate too much salt infused food... you can still here the mariachi music in your head... you probably have a few regrets... Siesta times 100. Audios. Buenos noches. Hasta luego.

10 WAYS TO BE COOLER

*10 ways to be cooler *    Step One - Don't be a fucking dick. This might sound like a simple task to most people, but believe me and probably everyone - it't not. If you are a decent human being and you are somewhat of an asshole - stop being such an asshole and amazingly your cool status will immediately go up. If you're wondering what constitutes as being a douche, think of taking the closest parking spot at Target when someone is waiting for it patiently with their blinker on. Or maybe not Snap Chatting other peoples boyfriend pictures of your tits... or any body part for that matter. Or being a dick to your waiter or waitress, even the negative passive aggressive comment you dropped on your co-worker is an assholey move - next time take your mother's advice, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.  Step Two - Be social - If you are a reclusive soul and never want to see the light of day, chances are, you aren't very co...

10 things to be thankful for this fall

1. Community - Be thankful for your community. Having lived in a small town and a city where wild fires destroyed homes, structures, lives, and left people's lives changed forever, community is something to be thankful for this fall. I witnessed so many strangers come together to grieve, gather, and give to the people impacted by the fires - whether it be donating food, supplies, time, or a place to stay, it was/ is incredible to see people rise up to support one another in a time of such need. In general, communities are very powerful and will be there for you whenever needed, not only during fires - many thanks. 2. Support - Be thankful for support - Support can mean a multitude of things - from someone supporting your ideas, dreams, decisions, to supporting you physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, or just flat out being your cheerleader. It's important to have support and its equally as important to be supportive. Support is something to be thankful for th...
