5 Ways to do Cinco De Mayo

Image result for cinco de mayo

** I understand this is a blog of 10 but in honor of Cinco De Mayo (The fifth of May for you Gringos) I will be doing a list of 5.**

Numero Uno- Traditions - Let's be respectful. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army took victory over the French Empire. (au revoir  putas) In Mexico, the traditional celebration is very militant and in the US it's a fucking fiesta - but, it is important to be respectful of traditions so therefore, be respectful.

Numero Dos- Tacos - What is a fiesta without bomb ass Mexican food? Not a very good one. (jajaja) I live in California so I am #blessed with authentic Mexican food and can literally find tacos at any hour of the day. If you don't live in California maybe stick to some generic tortilla chips and some Pace Salsa and skip the tacos because it would be a shame to try to recreate tacos if you don't know wtf you're doing. Make sure you eat at least 14 tacos on Saturday and if you're drinking, let's make that 24 tacos - you got this! **Insert Taco Emoji**

Numero Tres- Tequila - YAS! Did someone say margaritas? Palomas?Mexican Mules? Shots? Or any other tequila related beverage? Ugh, margaritas are the best. Spicy margs, prickly pear margs, on the rocks, blended, give me all of the margs! Get your salt, limes, ice, tequila, and get ready to drink your face off. If you're not into margs and want to try something a little diff, click the link below. You're welcome.

Numero Cuatro - Turn-Up / Tortas - Turn up that mariachi music (and please not Despacito by Justin Bieber - this is neither the time nor place for that) and turn-up! Get your dancing zapatos on and finally show off all of those sick dance moves you learned in Zumba!

**Shout out to my friend Orlando for the recommendation of the word, "tortas" as a T word in the Spanish language. To be fair, they are delicious and he's Mexican so he gets the credit here.**

Here are my 5 song recommendations for your turn up.
1. Me Deje Llevar - Christian Nodal
2. X - Nicky Jam & J Balvin
3. Quedate - Lenin Ramirez
4. Oye Mujer - Raymix
5. Los Enanos - Sones de Mexico Ensemble

Numero Cinco- Tranquilo - You have now had a successful Cinco De Mayo (hopefully) and the tequila is wearing off... your feet hurt from dancing... you ate too much salt infused food... you can still here the mariachi music in your head... you probably have a few regrets... Siesta times 100. Audios. Buenos noches. Hasta luego.

When you think of self-care your mind automatically goes to god. damn. bath bombs but self-care is so much more than that trendy tub glitter. Here are 10 other ways to nurture your soul without having to buy glorified powder... not cocaine, I'm still taking about bath bombs...  1. Stayyyyyycation!   You heard me! You don't need to get out of dodge to have a self-care day. I mean a fancy ass bougie spa would be nice but you can also find a cute Airbnb in your backyard and leave your worries behind! Staycations are a great way to feel like you are on vacation without the hassle of traveling too far, which means more money for booze! LOL well maybe not but you can save on travel costs and spend that extra $ on something snazzy like a charcuterie  board because what screams vacation errr staycation more that a charcuterie board.  2. Book a Trip! Well if you really aren't into the staycation idea then booking a nice little getaway might be just what the s...

10 NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS YOU CAN ACTUALLY DO ALL YEAR & KEEP!

1. Eating healthier - Instead of making crazy dietary restrictions or limitations, make the resolution of eating healthier. When you put yourself on a "diet" you are more likely to cheat or indulge in foods that will make you feel guilty and make you feel bad about yourself - Instead make the resolution of eating healthier and being more conscious about the foods you are choosing to eat. When you have the choice and are cognoscente about eating healthier foods, it wont seem like the end of the world if you consume a chocolate bar on a really shitty day and that wont make you want to wolf down your entire fridge, "because I already ate a chocolate bar and broke my diet I can eat these 400 cheese puffs" 2. Being more active - Again with the limitations - I used to be really hard on myself about my New Year resolutions involving some sort of weight loss goal, yuck! All I have to say is fuck that shit. If you want your New Years resolutions to involve a goal about we...

10 Rainy Day Activities

1. Read! - I'm a teacher ya'll! You best believe I will sneak reading into any blog post I can ;) Rainy days are made for curling up with a book and getting sucked into a parallel universe! As adults you aren't required to read unless you're in school and even then do you really actually read? So why not use a rainy day as an excuse to read a book you've been wanting to or to reread one you love! You'd be surprised how many new books have come out that are amazing and adult friendly - No, I'm not talking about Fifty Shades of Grey... but hey, if you haven't read it, give it a go the next rainy day! 2. Build a fort - Forts are supa fun and hella easy to build as an adult, which is delightfully surprising. Grab all of the blankets you own, your roommates blankets, your parents blankets, whoever the fuck you live with blankets, and get to work. Blast some music and get your creative juices flowing and make your fort dreams come true! Add some candle...
